PDF or Word file to Ebook software?

Does anyone know of a good ebook creation software that can easily take a PDF file or Word file text and images copy/ paste into the ebook software and your done. Or something close to that simple. My buddy has a report he typed up he wants to convert into an Ebook but doesn’t want to go through a lot of extra work to do so. I thank you in advance……………

Calibre has a modular device driver design that makes adding support for different e-reader devices easy.
